About the Role
This is a full-time remote position (40 hours/week) for candidates based in the United States.
The Financial Controller will:
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting systems
- Lead monthly close processes
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial standards
- Support audits, grant tracking, and financial planning
- Build scalable financial systems for a growing organization
This role is ideal for a senior finance professional with strong nonprofit accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly financial close and reporting
- Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Maintain cash flow forecasts and financial systems
- Lead audit preparation and compliance processes
- Ensure accurate grant tracking and reporting
- Improve financial processes and internal controls
Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years finance experience
- Strong background in nonprofit accounting
- CPA, CMA, MBA/MPA, or equivalent experience
- Experience with QuickBooks and GAAP
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote setting
