Energy Advisor – Public Facilities (Accra) – GIZ
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is hiring an Energy Advisor – Public Facilities to support climate and energy initiatives in Ghana.
This role is part of the SustainE4Climate II Project, supporting the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition.
About the Role
The Energy Advisor will lead technical and advisory work focused on:
- Energy efficiency
- Climate finance
- Renewable energy implementation
- Public sector sustainability
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advisory on energy efficiency policies
- Support development of renewable energy financing mechanisms
- Mobilize funding from private sector and multilateral institutions
- Train stakeholders on proposal development
- Support implementation of PF-SEAP strategy
- Coordinate meetings, stakeholders, and project activities
- Monitor and evaluate project progress
Requirements
- Master’s degree in energy, engineering, or related field
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- Renewable energy
- Energy efficiency
- Climate finance
- Experience in policy, advisory, or project implementation
- Strong English communication skills
Added Advantages
- Experience in carbon markets
- Background in training and stakeholder engagement
Location & Contract
📍 Location: Accra, Ghana
📅 Contract Duration: Until February 2028
