The Wetland Learning Hub (WLH) is offering Young Conservationist Scholarships to support emerging conservation professionals, students, volunteers and practitioners from Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The scholarships provide fully funded access to the Foundation Course: Wetland Ecosystems โ Conservation and Sustainable Management.
The programme is designed to expand access to specialist wetland conservation education and help develop the next generation of environmental leaders. It forms part of the wider mission of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) to train 25,000 conservationists worldwide by 2050.
At least two Young Conservationist Scholarships will be awarded for each eligible course cohort.
Who Can Apply?
The Young Conservationist Scholarships are targeted at young people who are beginning or developing their careers in conservation and environmental management.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
โข Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old.
โข Nationality or residence: Applicants must be citizens or residents of a Least Developed Country as defined by the United Nations.
โข Professional background: Candidates should be early-career conservationists, students, volunteers or practitioners involved in wetland conservation, environmental conservation or a related field.
โข English proficiency: Applicants must have functional English-language skills sufficient to participate in and complete the online training.
โข Commitment: Candidates must demonstrate strong motivation to use the knowledge gained from the course to improve conservation work in their local area.
