UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) is seeking a qualified professional for the Associate Programme Officer, Pโ€‘2 position at its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The role supports UNIDOโ€™s strategic mandate focused on inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID), particularly under SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. You will contribute to shaping transformative technical cooperation programmes and global partnerships.

๐Ÿง  Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical focal point for initiating and monitoring UNIDO technical cooperation (TC) projects, including budget allocation, forecasting, and implementation tracking.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, data analysis, and presentations that capture project progress and trends.
  • Use ERP/SAP or similar systems to retrieve, validate, and manage project data.
  • Support coordination with internal teams and external partners through stakeholder engagement and follow-up activities.
  • Collaborate on communications content (articles, newsletters, social media) to promote TC activities.
  • Assist in managing compliance with UNIDOโ€™s reporting policies and contribute to global events, forums, and publications.

๐ŸŽ“ Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Masterโ€™s degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, Environment, Engineering, or a related field aligned with UNIDOโ€™s mandate.)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant international experience in technical cooperation, preferably in development contexts.
  • Proven ability in budget oversight, financial reporting, and TC programme management.
  • Strong familiarity with SAP or ERP-based data systems used in logistics and project monitoring.

Languages:

  • Fluent in English (required); knowledge of additional UN languagesโ€”such as French, Spanish, Arabic or Chineseโ€”is an advantage.
