The AfaRise Fellowship is a powerful, fully virtual 2-year program launched by the African Futures Lab (AfaLab), created to elevate visionary researchers, artists, and activists committed to dismantling racial injustice across Africa and the global Afro-diaspora.
Rooted in reparatory justice, Afro-feminist leadership, and decolonial praxis, the fellowship equips changemakers to not only influence policyβbut to reshape the very narratives and systems upholding racial inequality.

Target Group:

- Visionary project at an early stage
- Lived or contextual understanding of African, European, or Afro-descendant communities
- Strong collaboration mindset

- Shortlisting: Based on merit, project relevance, diversity
- Interviews: Virtual interviews for shortlisted candidates
- Final Fellows: 8 fellows selected to represent diverse geographies and themes
